A Marta acabou hoje, domingo, a segunda sessão de quimioterapia. Os valores estão hoje suficientemente bons para vir a casa uns dias antes de voltar ao IPO e entrar em isolamento. O resto continua como é de esperar em tratamentos de quimioterapia. O IPO já vive um clima de Natal com enfeites em todos os andares e em todas as portas. As educadoras da pediatria esmeraram-se e os vários presépios no 7ºandar e no Hospital de Dia, feitos com a ajuda dos doentes e das suas famílias, são a face visível de uma dedicação e generosidade cristãs.
Infelizmente, no refeitório do 4º andar, a Eurest que explora a cantina, explicou às famílias dos doentes que não haveria espaço para pôr presépio, apenas para colocar várias árvores de Natal rodeadas de lindos embrulhos com laçarotes!...

This Sunday, Marta ended her second chemotherapy session. Her data are at sufficiently good levels that she can come home for a few days before returning to the Hospital to 'isolate'. Other than that, everything is going as expected for someone undergoing cancer treatment. The Hospital is already decorated with Christmas trimmings and lights. The staff in charge of entertaining the kids have gone out of their way to make various Nativity sets with the help of patients and their families for both the pediatric floor and the pediatric Day Hospital. Those beautiful reminders of our lord's birth show the staff truly Christian generosity and dedication.
Unfortunately, on the 4th floor, the company that runs the cafeteria, Eurest, has told the families that there is no room for a Nativity set, but only for a number of Christmas trees, some of which surrounded by boxes in beautiful wrappings!...
